Hello! How is the snorkeling in June? I've read that May/June is the windiest time of year - would we be better to go in July? Is the water much more choppy in June?

Thanks!
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Snorkeling is great anytime of the year on Bonaire. When you refer to May/June as the windiest time of year, I think that would be in regards to windsurfing. When there is no wind, it is soooo hot, that being in Aug, Sept, Oct and a little of Nov., That wind is really a little breeze to keep you cool and you really miss it when it goes away! Don't worry, you will not get blown away on Bonaire. Been there snorkeling when it is windy and not windy, it is great both ways. No worries. :-)

I agree with Debbie Melissa, the snorkeling is fabulous!

The snorkeling is on the lee side of the island, so all the waves you will get are toe lappers. Look at the webcam postings at Eden's beach and you will see how big the chop/waves are. My 86 year old mother is coming down with me in late May and will be snorkeling.

We usually go May/June and love the soft trade winds blowing. Nice under a palm tree in a hammock.Keeps the bugs off too!
Not an issue for snorkeling on the lee side.
