On a slightly different thread than the one about rechargeable lights for night snorkeling I was curious if anyone could give me their opinion of the best night snorkeling sites. Safety would be an issue I suppose among other things. Just wonder if the BT's meeting at Gibi's don't ever schedule a night outing somewhere on a regular basis, sort of a Friday night of the month at the such and such site.

My 2 pennies worth is to pick a place that you have snorkeled at several times during the days and have gotten to know somewhat. A 'resort' with a pier is a good bet because most of the piers have lights on at night which bring in critters and also there will be divers that you can follow around and see what they 'stir' up. Most resorts have resident tarpon(s) that will follow divers around and you can watch them from above.

I usually do a guided night snorkel with Renee out in front of the Divi and it is very safe and I have seen lots of neat things!
