We are returning to Bonaire in December for our third snorkeling trip. We have never been to Town Pier. Is it a good snorkeling spot? I understand a divemaster needs to go; does anyone provide snorkeling trips there? Is night snorkeling good there? If so, who should we contact? Any recommended spots for night snorkeling? Thanks.

You will need to have a local guide. Contact any of the dive centres for details. BTW, don't be alarmed that we have masses of bikers. Most of the bikes came in containers on the Don Andreas for a weekend rally. The majority were from Aruba.

Last year while we were at the Divi Flamingo there were bikers riding all over the complex at all hours of the night and morning. The uniqueness wore thin quickly. I am all for having a good time, but there are limits! They were all over the sidewalks and pathways right next to the rooms.

We didn't say anything to anyone as we did not want to spoil their party, but we were "relieved" when we realized they would not be there for our second week at the Divi.

To each his own, I guess! I do like MC's and bikers, but not at 3:30 in the morning right outside my door! LOL. Carole

This year there were no bikes at the resort because the management used the parkinglot with a security guard on duty to watch all these beautiful Harley's. The new Watersports & Adventure Center at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort offers also guided night night snorkeling and a program for advanced snorkelers.
For the town pier and more remote area's a guide is highly recommended but just in front of Divi it's worth to snorkel at night, just rent a dive light at the new center.

Carole, sounds like you picked the wrong week for a peaceful time- the rally is an event and other than that the island is quiet, especially in September!
