We are a married Canadian couple trying to move to Bonaire for permanent residency.

According to the “Bonaire Economic Note 2007” published by the Department of Economic and Labour Affairs, there were 34 Canadians that migrated to Bonaire in 2007. How did they do it?

We have received from the Population Affairs Department of Bonaire a checklist of documents needed and a model 1 of the application for a “License to Stay".

Are there any Bonaire Talk Canadians living in Bonaire familiar with this process?

We are applying as individuals who want to establish a business on the island, and are not being sponsored by an employer or current resident/nationality.
