I'm moving to Bonaire shortly. Can anyone recommend which would the best neighbourhood to live in for a single mom with a 10-year-old?

Welcome Heidi to BT. My advice would be to contact some of the real estate agents on island & discuss your needs with them. See Sunbelt's site which list available rentals.

There is another nice little neighborhood, a couple of blocks down from the tropical flamingo, most Dutch I think. There is a small community pool. And there is another nice on sort of across the road from the Divi.. that general area
