Hello there Everyone! What a great site this is! I've already learned so much! I am a writer and about to embark on writing another book. I'm looking for a quiet locale to write my book. I've been to Curacao several times and Bonaire once and have always thought someday I'd like to rent a little place for about 6 months or so and write.

I can afford somewhere around 1200 - 1600 Nafl. a month in rent. Is it possible to find a place on the beach in that range?

I also would be bringing 2 small dogs with me.

What are your general impression of living on Bonaire? Is it a relatively crime-free, safe environment?

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

Caryn

Welcome to the board, Caryn.

Before we kick another one off here...there are a number of hot threads related to crime on Bonaire that I'll link to below:

Here's one
Here's another one

A keyword search on Crime using the button in the toolbar below will also return a plethora of conversations on the topic.

As for rentals, you might check with Sun Rentals though I think you'll be hard pressed to find a beachfront house in your price range (not sure if you're looking for house or apartments, the latter of which may be possible in that range).

Also, Harbour Town has some rentals available. Not sure if they have them on their site...you may have to contact them.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the book.
