Dixie..Kudos and congrats are definitely in order. Rest assured, many of us on this board have admired your photographic acumen! You & Rick Coleman are my two favorites for UW photography.

Congratulations!!! This is an honor that is well-deserved.

Your photograph is truly wonderful. Your exposure was dead on. Your strobe was well-positioned. It looks like you were sitting on the bottom, which is a great place (in my opinion) to photograph the ray. And, you even got some of the deep blue (nicely exposed) in the background. Pretty amazing that you could put it all together to capture such a compelling image.

It is also very cool that you took the picture with the 10mm lens. For that, you had to be close. To be close, you had to be still and quiet. I don't know how you could have been steady. I would have been shaking with excitement had I gotten that close and probably scared the ray away!

Again, congratulations for this honor. Keep on photographing and please keep posting photos on Bonaire Talk.

This photo won't be on the regular certification cards. It will be on the 2011 PADI Diving Society Membership Card (PADI's global dive club). I'm trying to get all my friends to join so they can get the card LOL!!

I'm on island Nov 14-28 staying at Sanddollar so hopefully we'll run into each other!

What does one do to get that card? Large donation to PADI or lifetime membership/magazine subscription?
