If anyone is using the G11 with the Canon Underwater housing what type of strobe do you suggest buying. What high end and low end strobes are available? Or any suggestions on a website that would give me a clue.

Thanks:
Sandy

Wow !
I get to be the first of about 50 BT'ers to offer their opinion.
(I better make this good...)

My 2 cents is as follows:
Low end - Sea & Sea YS17
Middle range - Inon S2000
High End - Inon Z240

You can check the Sea & Sea and Inon Websites for specs.
All are Fiber Optic triggered and will do TTL from the camera's internal strobe. The Z240 can also be electric sync cord triggered.

There are many websites/UW photo equipment shops you could consult with, but I'd suggest www.Reefphotovideo.com

I am using a different camera and housing but have used Canon G series before and still have one around. I am very fond of Inon strobes. I have the Z240s and my son has a D2000 and S2000. I am not saying Inon is better than other brands, just that I am happy with them. If you are looking at using an Ike housing, then I would likely go with Ike strobes.

The S2000 is a very tiny strobe and that is appealing, but IMHO, unless price or the smaller size of the S2000 are really important, go with the Z240. You can always dial down the power of the Z240, but if you find the coverage or power of the S2000 or D2000 is insufficient, you have to get a new strobe.

Check this site out for useful information and the ability to compare brands and models:

Well -- I have the Canon G 10 with the Fisheye housing, along with the Inon S-2000 strobe. This package was recommended to me by Reef Photo in Ft. Lauderdale, where I bought it all (I was referred to Reef Photo by this message board, and they are GREAT for post-purchase support). Just recently added the macro lens and lens adapter. They are all really working well. Reef Photo recommended the strobe because of it being so compact, for packing and traveling purposes, and it is a TTL with adjustable settings. Once I started getting used to the manual settings, all is pretty good. No complaints!
