Hi Everyone! This week's theme is Frogfish and they are definitely at the top of my favourites list! Most photos taken on Bari Reef.

Sorry Jerry - LOL!!!
I think they're cute too Sue!

I usually ask the DM's at the dive shop if there are any on the reef (BARI) and have been given "directions". After 1 or 2 dives I've been lucky enough to locate them (but not always!!)

These photos were taken in different years (2005-2008). I didn't find any my last 2 trips but I'm hoping for one this Nov.!

Dixie, Dixie, Dixie... there aren't enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe these and give appropriate accolades to you. I do know greatness when I see it, and here it is!!!:):):):):)

I have only ever seen 3 froggies - all pointed out by a guide. I'm sure several hundred have seen me though - I'm just not as photogenic LOL :)

Awesome work, girl! Keep posting, it helps keep the PBD at bay especially since I have no idea when I will get back to Bonaire.:(

Dixie,

I would KILL to be able to shoot like that!! You are an awesome photographer!! Terry and I would like to print out the 4th one down on Kodak paper, and hang it in our 1/2 bath.

With your permission of course...? We're running out of room every where else in our house. Of course, I'll lie and say you and your hubby are personal friends of ours...

Sure Tad - go ahead and print the photo. If you need a bit higher resolution copy for enlarging, PM me and I'll email it to you.

I like the way they pretend that you don't see them.

Hi Dixie
I've never seen a frogfish, and I want to try to take some pictures.
You know what's the dive better to see them? It's possible to see frogfish without a DM or it's so difficult?

Thanks

Jordi

Hi Jordi - It will be more difficult on your own to find them. Most of the Frogfish I've seen have been at the house reef (Bari Reef) where I typically stay). I usually ask the DM's at the diveshop or other divers at the resort if they've seen any, get general directions and then go looking for them. I've been very successful finding them but if you've never seen one I would recommend going on a boat dive or hiring a DM to show you one. Good Luck!
Dixie
