Folks,

I'm planning on writing my fifth diving story to be published. I'm joining my dive group in Virginia for their annual underwater pumpkin carving in a local quarry in Virginia.

I need hi-riz, professional U/W photos of carved pumpkins to accompany my story. Can anyone recommend a photographer who might have stock photos. I need really good photos, accentuating the orange color.

Thank you.

Gregory Greer

Gregory, I have a friend, Tom, who lives in Vermont, and a friend Tim who lives in Florida. They are two of the best pumpkin carvers I have ever witnessed. Tom, probably could have gone professional, but riding Harley's just got in the way. Tim may still be on the circuit. I'm not sure. However, we also have Jerry, who every once in a while posts annoying orange things. Then, of course, there is always George.

Bruce,

I'm not sure of the name of the quarry we're going to in October.

Jim,

Can you hook me up with some of these people? I need a real pro. I'm the writer and I need brilliant hi-rez photos suitable for print in a foreign national magazine.

I need the photos by the end of October.

Thank you.

Greg

I'm sorry Greg. I was kidding. Although, I have to tell you, Tim is very very artistic. I was taken back, as I thought you were kidding about underwater pumpkin carving. I can go to my grave content, as I have heard it all now. :) :)

Freddie, sorry. It's an Irish thing. I was born with it. I am trying to change and be more serious, but it is going to take time. LOL Your husband is not making me any better either. :) :)

Okay, I guess I'm talking to clowns.

I'm serious. I need good photos.

This chat room used to be a great source of information from fellow divers.

We used have a contest every fall in Monterey...no mean feat in cold water gear. That and the underwater chocolate abalone hunt in the spring have fallen off the last few years; maybe I'll have to revive them...

Jim, underwater pumpkin carving is actually a fairly common event. We have done a few such Halloween dives, but with little success. Those silly things love to float and trying to hold them down while carving them in the cold Maine ocean with the three finger mits is very difficult :-)

Sorry, we have no great uw pics as vis in Maine is usually not so good .
