I have to blog at work now, so I wrote my first blog about the underwater photography I have taken while on vacation in Bonaire

Can't access your blog from work because the military blocks all blogs. But I'm trying to guess what you do. Journalist?

I am a photojournalist, however, wish I could dive for a living!

Melissa - those are such great photos! I have been shopping for a decent UW camera and the GS11 has come up a few times with great reviews. If I was to purchase it with the WP-DC34, do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions for essential add-ons? I am an enthusiastic yet amateur photographer, but a not yet a UW photographer...

Thanks!

Melissa:

Great shots. As with Nat, I too have been looking at the Canon G11. I also used the new 14.1mp SD1400 that I had rented on island last trip. Do you have any suggestions. Do you like the Canon underwater housing or Ikelite? Or am I comparing apples to oranges?

Just for your information I use the g10 but do not yet get quite as nice pics. as Melissa . T-shirt divers had suggested Reef Photo and they lead me to the g10. I bought the fisheye housing which to me was a little pricey, but is very compact. One of our neighbors had the g10 with the cannon housing and it was just as compact.I have used Reef Photo several times and not been disappointed.

Canon housings are less expensive but basic. My hubby is a photojournalist too and we like to keep it simple for vacation. Just a G9 and G11. We do use external flashes. We have been happy with the results.
