"magic filter" ?? I searched and find there are various filters for Nauticam Housing. What is the "magic filter" doing?

Magic Filter is a product created by Dr. Alex Mustard which goes between the lens and the camera body. Some lenses have a slot for filters, (like the Nikon 10.5mm) and others you have to tape it in place (like the Tokina 10-17mm.)

They work really well in WA ambient light shots. All you need to do is use Auto White Balance to tell the camera at a certain depth "this is white." Works with Compact P&S and DSLR's, down to about 40 feet, below that there's not enough ambient light.

Magic Filters

You can get them at any good underwater camera shop, like Reef Photo or Backscatter.

You can get some really nice blues. This trumpetfish would not leave the front of the dome and he's a little too close to be in sharp focus but the Magic Filter does a great job of bringing out the colors as you saw them.
