I will have two cameras and flashes that require AA batteries on my upcoming May trip to Bonaire. Can anyone shoot me some tips on what they do as far as batteries and chargers, volts/cycles... yada yada yada. Thanx in advance.

Electricity on Bonaire is a nominal 127 volts at 50 Hertz. Make sure your charger is rated 100-240 volts and 50/60 Hertz and you are good to go. Most chargers are so rated. You may want to bring a surge protected plug strip for extra protection.

This will be a perfect candidate for a 'sticky' thread when we get that up and running.

yes it will Eric :) you might also consider NOT leaving the chargers on all night... especially if they are directly plugged into the wall..

I think it will be fun to build some of them too. We can work together as a group and come up with various topics that seem to repeat here, all contribute our various thoughts, weed out anything that Jerry says :B , and then make a sticky out of it.

Just back from a week on Bonaire. We take a power surge protector with auto shut off and voltage stabilizer. Have never had a problem with charging any of our batteries with it. It has 10 outlets, which with 3 of our4 own digital cameras and the kids cameras, worked out great. We have rechargable double AA's that we use for our small dive lights and it worked well with those as well.

Well worth the investment imho.

When we were there I had a Canon 40D and a SeaLife and both chargers worked fine.
