I am in need of a set of replacement O-Rings [2] for my Fuji Underwater Case WP-FXF30.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can get them other than from the UK. I need them in the next month.

I have tried the usual -- E-bay; Amazon and Google Search without success.

The Replacement kit is ORK-F30 for the F30 and F31fd camera.

Thanks for any leads.

Bill

Bill, I hope you can locate the o-rings you need. When you get the new ones here is a trick to make them last many years. What usually happens to them is they develop a memmory and become square. I remove mine, and clean and lube them, and store them inside my housing. close the housing and cover it with a clean cloth untill ready for use. My last set of rings have lasted me 4 years... Ron

If these are regular round O rings as opposed to a special shape, any O ring supply house should be able to help you. They are probably metric but that shouldn't be a problem. When I was in the transmission business we use to help people out with all kinds of O ring applications. Just Google "O rings" for a supplier near you.

I might call some of the various UW photo supply places (i.e., Reef Photo). I would also check with Fuji and see if any other o-rings work.

I have removed the two O-rings [one is a rectangular cross-section] and am storing them in a clean plastic container. That may allow some of the compression set to return back to the uncompressed state.

I washed and cleaned the O-rings and using a magnifying glass I didn’t see any nicks or other damage; nor any dirt, sand or salt particles.

My current plan is to leave them out of the camera until a day or so prior to traveling and then install them in the case. Then an over night water tightness test in a bucket and perhaps a 1 hour test in the deep end of the community pool [8 feet].

If everything is leak-free at that point I’ll leave the underwater case closed-but-unlatched in a Gallon Zip-Lock bag and wait to install the camera the night before I plan to go snorkeling. Final check for dirt and a sand followed by a short sink test to check for leaks.

Since I am snorkeling and unlikely to free dive deeper than 6 to 10 feet, the old O-rings may work fine. If they don’t then I will simply skip the underwater shots. This trip is to the North Shore of Kauai so snorkeling may not be very good anyhow. Even at it’s best the visibility in Hawaii is less then that on Bonaire on an average day; and, on average days in Hawaii visibility is much worse.

I thank all of you for your suggestions and offers to help. I plan to phone Reef, and Adorama,. Shop Fuji Film E-mailed me a phone number to call for possible help from Fuji Film so I’ll give that a try as well

As Julia indicated the O-rings are available in the UK so I may go that route after my return from Hawaii and prior to my next trip to Bonaire.

Airmail between the UK and USA is only 5 days, you could order the rings sent to my address and I would post them on to you asap.

Hi Julia:

Actually, when I followed up with the UK sites, I didn't have much better luck than in the USA.

Responses included the following:

1. Scubacam.nl

quote:

Out of Stock or needs special processing. You will be contacted upon ordering with further information.

2. Following a recommended link with part # to Fujifilm United Kingdom came back with

quote:

the search P10N079960A did not match any documents

3. A couple of Fuji Camera and Parts sites dead ended

4. The one site that came back with

quote:

Usually ships in one to two months

I subsequently noticed had switched me from the ORK-F30 to the ORK-F100 O Ring Kit.

5. And I finally decided to go with the original O-Rings when a link to a site with doubleelephant in its URL came up with a flashing warning from my virus protection software that the doubleelephant site is a known attack site.

Anyhow, Thanks for your kind offer of help and I'll post and let you know how I make out

Bill
