I noticed a posting on one of the other topics about the voltage on Bonaire and was wondering if anyone knew if it would adversely affect camera battery chargers? The Canon G-10 comes with a battery charger for it's specific battery. Does anyone know if I will be able to charge the battery while on Bonaire and without damage to the unit or battery?

to be safe Gail bring a surge protector and don't leave the charger on all night or all day,,

So long as I have had a surge protector my chargers for camera batteries, camera strobe, laptops, cell phone, etc. all have worked fine.

Thanks, would not have thought about a surge protector. Guess that gets added to my packing list!

If the charger is rated 100-240 volts and 50/60 Hz you are good to go. The surge protector is an added layer of protection.

Bonaire has spikes and surges of many more than 'a few volts'; WEB is not your local electrical utility in North America or Europe. No problems so far is good but far from guaranteed for the future.
