Hi, I would like to add photos to my trip report but need help resizing. I am a real armature at photo editing! I am sure there are past posts on this but I can't seem to find them. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements on my computer and have gone to the resizing option but when I get it under 100 kilobites the photos are the size of a postage stamp! What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much for your help.

Lise.....once you open the pic in elements, I believe if you go to "file" there whould be an option for "save for web" go to this and set the pic width or height to 500 or so and it will tell you the new size, if it is the right size, save it with a different name so you don't overwrite your full size file.

I think this is how elements works.....I have the full photoshop and mine works this way.

the "save for web" function will work just fine, there are two steps:

1. resize the image (as above) to 600 or maybe 500 pixels (in the longest dimension)

2. change the quality (30 - 60) to get under 50K (about 48K because of multiply by 1.024)

with max size at 600 and quality at 30 if the image is still too big then reduce size to 550 or even 500...really don't want to drop quality anymore at that point...

good luck:-)
