Please tell me what I'm doing wrong with my camera as far as battery life. I came with three sets of rechargeable batteries for my Oly SP350. Two different rechargers. I charged each set of batteries overnight and always got the low battery life before the end of a 1 hour dive. My camera went to sleep mode after no picture taking for several minutes. Should I switch to Nimh. What do you do? I hated to have to open the housing between dives without the proper rinse/dry cycle.

The Moby Power CRV3 Rechargeable Lithium Battery works very well for the sp350

NIMH should would good also, but the low battery indicator may start flashing long before the batteries run out (this may be fixed in the latest SP350 firmware)

Your software needs to be updated. Go to the Olimpus website to do that. I don't have that problem with the Energizer AA Lithium batteries. I only have to open my camera once a week(350 frames)using those batteries... Ron

Here is a link to Olympus. You will want "firmware download v1.3" and you will need the USB cable that came with the camera to do the download.

I followed the instructions for updating camera this morning and it recognizes my camera but doesn't give the any firmware download choices for me to download. I assume I already did this as it doesn't offer any choices.

sounds like a known issue with a recommended update, i'd make sure i followed the update instructions...

just FYI, my judy's canon sd870 battery lasted for over two weeks and ~500 pics/some with flash without a recharge...i finally "killed" the battery offloading...but that was pretty amazing battery life...

good luck,

I'm going to have to figure this one out. I bought it at Costco, so I'll need to see if a local camera store can fix/update the problem.
