Hello,

I will be in Bonaire February 23rd - March 1st. I have a Nikon D40 and would like to try renting an underwater housing for a couple of days. Is there a shop on Bonaire that offers a housing for this camera? Thanks!

Vernon,
Fish Eye Photo at Den Lehmans next door to Bari's Reef rents housings. You may want to email them and ask specifically on your make and model. I suspect they will not have that model but you will need to rent the entire set up with their camera instead.

Greg has it nailed a full camera and some Nikon housings are likely. Captain Don's had a D70 & housing rental in October you may need to email/phone around.

until the various housing manufactures can come up a more "general" way of controlling camera functions (like thru a USB port) we are going to have this problem of needing a specific housing for a specific camera - and that will continue to make rentals a little problematic...

then again, those of us who have accumulated several cameras and housings might want to move to bonaire and consider a career change:-)

Please post whatever you are able to find. I have a D200 w/ 12-24, 18-70, and 105mm lenses. I'd love to find a housing for rental.

In the states, backscatter photo rents them for $600-900 week, I am busy this week, but will try to find out if its possible for them to ship to, return from Bonaire so less to travel with.

Justin
