Does anyone know if one of these is available to rent with a housing at one of the shops in Bonaire? I cannot locate one and I could swear I saw one last year. I dont have a housing for my D70, but I would like to rent one while I am there and try it instead of my Oly 5050. The shutter lag on that one drove me insane last year!

i'd forgotten all about shutter lag;)

check some of the earlier threads - someone had the same question - good luck and be sure to post some pics;)

Hi Bob,

No I am looking to rent for the week. Last year I took my Olympus and after spending the year shooting with the Nikon (on land), I got spoiled and told myself the Oly days were over! It is not in the budget this year to get the housing especially after planning a 2 week stint in Bonaire in October. Soooooo......I was hoping to find my particular camera housed so I could rent it since I am very familiar with how it operates.

Look at the cost of these housings (new or used), they aren't going to rent it for the cost of a McDonald's meal.

Not to mention the cost of your D70...Maybe you should just use your point and shoot.

the rental price for the kit may not be that unreasonable - it does include the strobe, a port, and a hard case - it's possible the kit would cost you $2500.00...after 100 dives that's $25 per dive. at $450 a week that might be 18 dives (for same cost per dive)...guess it comes down to how much are you gonna use it?

I guess Ill suffer with the shutter lag or choke and buy the housing! I already have a strobe so.....decisions decisions.....
