Hi,

Here is a link to my gallery of pictures from Bonaire. They're all from the beginning of December 2005.

The gallery is flash based so please be patient while it is loading...

Enjoy!

per,

quick question - was the strobe in manual or that new iTTL mode? wondering about using a non iTTL strobe myself and needed to know whether it would at least fire in manual control mode (for the strobe - not the camera)

thanks in advance and nice pics;)

Hi Bob,
I use a Nikon D-70 with an Ikelite housing.
I always use the manual settings on the camera. For the strobe I use a DS-125 with the EV manual strobe controller. I also have a Sea&Sea YS-90 in slave mode (manual settings too).

I used to have a Light&Motion housing for my Olympus E-20 which was all electronic. Might have been just my housing, but I always had some thing or another not working properly ruining my shots, so I'm quite happy with an all mechanical housing and no extra bells and whistles in the electronic department. I guess that in the end it all comes down to personal preferences.

I'm not sure, but I hope that I've answered your question.

per,

ok - i'm not actually sure the D70/housings (or all D70s) support iTTL (TTL but not iTTL). i'm looking at the D50 which is only iTTL. the older DS125 strobes are not ready for iTTL (the strobe can be converted for a fee). so the question is will the strobe fire using the manual/iTTL switch on the Ikelite housing (switched to manual). i'm guessing this is equivalent to your manual setup only the manual EV controller is built into the housing - sort of...

i think you answered my question;)

those are some nice pics;)

Nice photos! The color contrast and lighting is so striking in the coral pic with the "blue hole"!! Great capture on the one with the bubbles. I really enjoyed your gallery. Thanks for taking the time to share them.

This is odd. I've never heard of the guy, he takes wonderful pics on Bonaire (at the same time when I was there on my latest trip!) and after looking in the phone book I realize that he lives just a few miles from me.

Warning - strange words coming:
Hej Per, vi ska dit i höst igen med en större grupp på en resa med fototema. Kan det vara något?

Henrik, it must be that Swedish air and/or water....creates talented photographers with a terrific "eye" for shots. Carole
