This is a still photo taken from a video I shot at Fish Hut last week. The fish was over the reef, and only there for a few seconds. Fortunately, I looked up in time to see it and was able to get some video. The folks at Carib Inn said this is a very rare sighting for scuba divers on Bonaire. It's not a great shot, but I think it's still possible to get an ID. What do you think?

Thanks. The video is only a few seconds long. I'm glad the marlin turned and gave me a nice profile. Right after this shot was taken, he lowered his dorsal fin or "sail" and rocketed out of there.

Bruce great spot.

My best sighting was the nude snorkellers unfortunatley I was being a gentleman and did not take any pictures. My wife and the dive crew told me off for NOT taking pictures.

Cyn, Imagine that? How cool. There is a big barracuda hanging around - I'd prefer it if he would relocate to a new home.

Bruce, this is such a unique picture... I wonder how big he really was? Do we think he is a marlin?

Hey Bruce,
Don't know all the details but you may want to see if you qualify to enter for this photocontest?

Thanks so much, Bruce, for posting this photo! When we were there in December, a marlin cruised by as we were descending during our checkout dive at Carib Inn. My husband spotted it first, and from the look on his face I knew it must really be something - talk about a sight to kickoff your dive vacation! Your photo made my heart race all over again...
