Gills, ain't posting picks a bi$%h sometimes? But WELL worth that eel shot! WOW...OK, I have to ask the "dumb question" but what are those 2 things protruding under his "nose?" (yes, I could look it up on the internet but am pushed for time...work and family are keeping me very busy...plus, I just KNOW someone will have an answer roll off the top of their tongue and we can all get "edumacated." ;-)

Timmmmy NOT. David looks to be mostly correct although nares is also correct and tubed nares is even more nerdy. All this from memory.

Any organism can have nares ...Nares (NAIR-ess) is a simple name for any part of a nostril you can see, the set you can't see are choanae (coh-AY-nee)...An eel has tuberous hifi electroreception organs simply referred to as nares....
