I want bore you with all the details of our trip, it sends me into deep depression. We stayed at Belmar for 11 nights and dove 23 times, too many stories to tell about all the things we saw and all the sites we dove. If you get the chance to dive with Bas he will take you to some great places that most people wouldn't go to. Candyland is north of Bopec and is a wonderful site, also good for snorkling. Cai, Washekimba and Two Chairs are also some of the great place he took us. Here are some of my pics I got with a new Sealife DC500. I just got it before Christmas and it works great, I also have an external strobe.

Excellent pictures Mike. So, willing to give up directions to any of these sites? Somehow, I doubt it. We stay at the Belmar also - it's great!

Thanks, Mike, for the great photos.

I gave my husband a Sealife DC500 with external strobe for Christmas, so it is encouraging to see actual photos before we try in out in 7 weeks.

Linda, did you get the optical cord that goes to the flash? The one thing I noticed before I went was, it did not flash every time, so I called Sealife. They told me to clip both ends of the cord, some times it gets covered during manufacturing and the signal will not pass thru to the flash. He should also check their web site and download new software for the camera.

Good Luck I really like mine.

Great photos!!! I am with you...My favorite is the black frog & eel.
I "see" from the pic's you got more than just a new camera....luv the new "dive gear ensemble"....where are the pic's of Andy and Sherrie?
BTW folks, a few years back, Mike won an underwater(film)photo contest. Maybe he'll post it.
Yana
ps tell Sherrie I talked to Bas yesterday.....he said he had a great time with you guys!!!

Yana,
The new gear was great.
I'm glad we did not bore Bas and he didn't mind having us around, it really makes the trip more interesting have him with you to learn about the island and to share dives with. Bas and I were talking about the Blue Collar Comedy guys and laughing about some of their jokes and truisms in the south, and on the last day Joni said something kind of innocently dumb and I said HERE'S YOUR SIGN! I thought Bas was going to die laughing.
Let me know if you find a deal for summer and I will post some land pics tonight.

Mike,
Thanks for the recommendation. Yes, we did get the cord and we'll look at the website. Anything else....fogging, etc. ? Do you recommend turning the camera off during the dive as I've read in another thread?

Linda,
Make sure to load the camera in a cool room and put a moisture muncher inside, and yes I would turn the camera off between shots. It not only gets hot which will cause fog, it will also run down the battery faster if you leave it on. I was only getting two dive per charge, granted they were 60-180 minute dives, next time I will turn it on and off.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
