Welcome to the board.

I have used both in my MX-10 and I prefer the 100. The quality is a bit better. I also like Fuji film better than Kodak. The colors in the Fuji are brighter and more vivid, the Kodak colors were more real life but for UW use I like the color of the Fuji. If you don't have one, I would suggest you invest in a close up lens. The standard lens on the MX-10 has a minimum focal distance of around 4 ft, the close up lens reduces the distance to around 1 1/2 ft. With the YS-40 strobe, this is too far to get good colorful pictures underwater. When setting up the camera, be sure NOT to use any F-stop than will cause the internal flash to fire for UW pictures. Unless you are using the macro lens the internal flash will cause lots of back scatter, snow looking stuff in the picture. The primary rule of UW photography is to get close, get closer, get even closer and when you think you are too close, your about right. The standard lens will not let you get close enough in most cases. With a little practice, the MX-10 is very capable of some great shots.

Thanks Herman I think I can try the things you came up with, and we will see next march.
Thank you
Dick.

Dick-Herman is right in saying the Fuji film produces the best colors. Another point on a close-up lens...... be careful in correcting for parallax (the instructions come with the lens) as the MX-10 does not have a thru-the-lens viewfinder. If you do have or are considering a macro lens as well, we have had very good results using the manual mode on the YS-40A strobe. ASA 400- F/22.........ASA 100-F/11. We use the 400 speed film a lot as the lens opening is set 2 stops smaller, giving you more depth of field. Fuji has made a lot of progress in producing 400 speed film with a finer grain. It is (almost) as good as 100 speed now. The MX-10 is a nice easy to use camera and, even with its limitations, will still produce some nice photos.
