There's a story with this one. During a dive at Cia with Bas, Susan P. and Lisa we found an old trap with no buoy. Quite a few fish were caught inside including a parrot fish and several snappers. From their appearance they had been trapped for some time.
c
We all set to work tearing into the wires to get it open while the fish became aggitated and began banging against the sides of the cage. As we continued to work they seemed to settle down either from exhaustion or because they summised there was no way out. We managed to get a large portion of the top open and all made it safely out to open water. We then sealed the entrance closed so no more fish would become trapped, and went on to another great dive. A good deed to add to the trip! :-)

Bas, very cool stuff especially the opposing turtle shot!

Bill, the turtle and ray shots and a few others were taken at Lac Cia. The rest were taken at various sites on the west side.

Lydia, I was using a Canon A95 w/internal strobe(no external). Bas has an Olympus 7070 and has no external strobe as well.

As for the blue tinge, many factors contribute to that including camera make, available light when the pic was taken, mode selected during the shot, and post editing to name a few. In my case, I have color issues with my sight(Ishihara red/green distinction deficiency) and rely on my editing program(Photoshop Elements) to help me out. So I have to trust in editing with auto levels to get a pic worth keeping and it doesn't always look correct to those without vision issues. I could get into manual white balance stuff, but that would be getting way too deep, even for me. It does have a lot to do with the person in control. Your question is not as easy to answer as you might have thought, but a very good one. Feel free to email me if you want to find more info on learning more than I can teach you.

Lydia,

Sofar I have always used my camera in auto mode. The only thing I change sometimes is the internal flash. It's off most of the time, sometimes I turn it on. I have not done any photoshop or other post editing. That's how it came out the camera. Just downsized them so I could post them.
