There have been a lot of cool slide show presentations on this board. Can someone recommend a downloadable program that allows me to add music and effects and can be played on any PC? In other words I want to be able to take the show to a friends on a CD and not have to install a player or program to watch it. Thanks

I have used this for a couple years and it is great. You can try a trial version for free. The trial version limits you to ten pictures, buying the program for $24 gives the ability to use an unlimited number of pictures.

Windows Movie Maker is a good one. I believe it came with Windows XP but you can download it here

There are all kinds of transitions and you can add music, etc.

I've got a great video already made and lots of new pics from last year--I could use some advice as to how to set up a web page so that I could show these off to folks on this web site. Anyone able to help. I'm pretty computer literate, I are I are, but not so with web site startups. I have insightbb--broadband and can start up a 60 mg page. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Grace

Hi Grace,
I can't help with the web page, however I can help with a place for you to post your photos so you can share them with family and friends..without resizing them for this site.
I use www.Kodakgallery.com for the stills . I also know that www.shutterfly.com has a place to store photos for sharing as well. I can't help with the video but I am sure someone else will pop in and let us all know about creating a website.. where is Cecil? he know these things...
Can't wait to see all your photos.. can't you post a few of them here so we can see ?? {for help in posting , please read FORMATTING at the bottom of this page, photos can be no larger than 50mbs}

I use a product called Proshow. It does a nice job. You can down load a copy of it on line, try it for free and buy it if you like it. The try version actually is the real version but it puts a big banner across the photos. If you decide to buy it, you send them your CC and they email you a pass code that clears off the banner, no need to reload it. You can make CD's that will boot on computers or on a DVD player. You should see them on a big HDTV.
