Took this pic in Bonaire in May. The fish is about 1/2" and is round. slightly out of focus.

Thanks much.

I think that's a juvenile trunk fish. Don't have my fish guides with me right now so I am not sure which one.

According to Stokes' 'Fishes and Sea Life' p. 119, this would be a juvenile Smooth Trunkfish.

It looks like a juvenile Smooth Trunkfish, per Humann pg 393 The darn little "dancing peas" are hard to get a shot of, much less get good focus.

Also by Humann/DeLoach 'Reef Fish' v. 2 p. 334-5. It looks unanimous.

Enrique, a DM @ the Divi, makes an aquarium out of his mask and puts one of these juv in his mask. It's something to see! Also congratulations to Enrique for being 2nd runner up employee of the year @ the Divi Flamingo! For anyone who has dove with him knows he can find creatures in the sea!

Kelly, he fills his mask half full and floats the juv into the mask then he wears his mask normally. I have a pic from last year. I've seen him do it twice!

Uh-oh.

It's all I can do not to have a RANT here!

Why do some dive masters feel that folks need to be entertained by messing with the fishies?

Rant over.
(Gee I feel better.)

I was wondering the same thing...
Is this something we should encourage?
