Am I seeing things or are the numbers on the pics running in the same series as Henrik's? Maybe I'm just cracking up right before we take off for Bonaire.......Are they automatically numbered by BT when uploaded in sequence? Is it my system that is giving them the numbers in sequence?? (i.e. 226517, 226518, 224566, etc.) Just curious as to how that works....Carole

Carole, BT server does that numbering. Think we've had a lot of pics uploaded since 1999?

BTW, you will make it to 5000 before the trip, I am sure! ;-) I can't believe we're not going to join you again. Waaahh! :-(

Thanks, Niki...after my brain had pondered on this for a short while I figured it might be something along those lines! Yup...we have had our fair share of photos posted, for sure!

We will miss you two on this trip...won't be the same at all. Wish your smiling faces were going to be there to break ribs with us from Bobby Jan's and get rib sauce smeared all over our faces! I do hope we all manage to get back down to Bonaire next year with the AJ hassles and all. Where there is a will, there is a way, right!? Hugs to Bob and Mom. I don't know if I will get there...to 5000....still have a lot of stuff to do before we leave! LOL.

Magnus...I see you are from Sweden, too! Are you friends/associates with Henrik, by any chance??

Your photos are just beautiful! I can't believe how fortunate we, at BT, are to have you guys posting your wonderful work. We are enjoying it immensely!! Thank you, again. Carole

Yes, I'm a friend of Henriks. I use to dive with him here in Sweden. Actually, 4 of the top 10 elite in underwater photography in sweden (including Henrik and me) were on Bonaire the same week last year, and will be there the same week this fall.

The equipment I used at Bonaire were an old Nikon F810 (I think it's called 8008 in the US) in an Ikelite housing, one Ikelite Substrobe 100A and one Nikonos SB105 as slave. The lenses I used were fisheye (sigma 15 mm) and macro (Tamron 90 mm). The films were Kodak Ektachrome 100VS and Fuji Velvia 50.

Maqnus, since you said that you and Henriks will be in Bonaire this fall, would you mine telling us what week it is. If we are there the same time, we would love to dive with you and pick up some pay for professional hints. Gary & Kathy

To both Magnus and Henricks,

Question: how did you digitize the film images? Resolution, etc. Sharpening, etc. Finally I see digitally processed images that really tempt me from print chemistry.

Magnus is away diving this weekend so I'll answer for him. I think he uses a Minolta scanner to digitize the Kodak VS slide film he uses.

My own "digitizing" is easy since I use a digital camera.

That is correct Henrik. I use a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400.
When I scan for web I scan the exact pixel dimensions. I do all sharpening and tone correction (when needed) in scanning.
When I make posters I scan max resolution, 5400dpi.
