My digital camera (cannon s400 elph) takes pictures averaging about 1 MB. Ihave a pc and various programs (photoshop elements 2..haven't used it though and microsoft photo editor and cannon photo effects. I am a tech dummy! so please help.

Photoshop elements:
Open picture. Go to image menu at top, select resize image. Make longest dimension 5 inches, hit return. go to file menu, go to save for web. Click triangle to right of box marked quality. should bring up a slider. move slider until size listed in right split screen window is less than 50K. save photo with new name or you will replace the original.when uploading, upload that photo. Leave adobe open, so if it is seeing the photo as larger than you thought it was saved, you can just resize it and resave it and reupload attempt.

PS speedy tip: right click the thumbnail of the image you want to open in photoshop. Select Open with. You will probably have to select Adobe from a list of programs, but thereafter it will be on the open with as an option. You can alter the inches size of the photos at your desire, but you must save them under 50K.
