Searching the internet I found this old journal of Bonaire. http://www.beeldengeluid.nl/template_subnav.jsp?navname=polygoon_themas&category=collectie_informatie&artid=27324
On the rigt side under 'Fragmenten' you'll find the old journal of Bonaire. Enjoy!

That is very cool. Thank you for the link.

Too cool! Great Bonaire history! Like Susan, I only got the basic ideas, the salt production, flamingos, harvest festivals, cave inscriptions, etc. I'm wondering if any of the young Bonaireans in the movie are still around today? Too cool!

Thank you sooo much! How wonderful to see that things have barely changed on Bonaire at all....it is so unusual and refreshing to see how it has remained so close to what it was in this footage.

This is one of the many, many reasons we truly love Bonaire and can't wait to return every year.

Thanks, again for passing the link on over to us! Ayo. Carole

Thanks Iris, that's very nice!
Do you know about the Dutch TV series "Duel in de diepte". It is about 25 years old, all filmed on Bonaire, some very nice shots of the Island, both above and under water are shown. The series is available on DVD.

Karin,
I just read up on "Duel in de Diepte" - it sounds like a lot of fun to see, and to make it even better: a young Rutger Hauer starred in it!

It looks like the DVD may only be available in the Netherlands. Oh well...

Karin,

Yes I have seen the serie "Duel in de diepte" on DVD. Thanks to this site where I read that it was available at the Free Record Shops otherwise I would not have know of its existence!
