Hello. I would like some advice from anyone that might have the time. I am looking to get a Digi Camera with underwater housing for some snorkel pics. Does anyone have any suggestions? Seems sometime back someone mentioned a Sony 9 that wasn't to expensive. Any input is appreciated, we leave in 6 weeks for our 3rd trip to Bonaire and I would like to have the camera and housing before then.

I'd suggest running a keyword search for "sony" to find that thread you were thinking of. Could also search for "underwater housing" and other related keywords to pull up some useful info that already exists on this board.

I just returned from my first digital experience. Not being interested in a serious money, external-strobe rig, I used an Olympus Stylus 300 in an Olympus PT-016 housing. (They also make a Stylus 400, which is the same camera with more pixels for a bit more money. It uses the same housing.) I was impressed with the construction of both the camera and housing. The camera and housing are very small and handy.

We have the Sony P8 and it does a nice job. The housing is nice and small and fits in a bc pocket. We liked it so much that we just got a second one. I must tell you that the housing is on back order everywhere. I was waiting from one place since april and then they just cancelled it! I ended up finding it on Ebay for a higher price.

Angela, I think you are talking about the Sony DSC-U60 which is waterproof to 5' without a case. It would do the job but has some serious limitations, it's only 2 megapixel and has a fixed lens (no zoom), it is pretty cheap. Here's a link to the Sony page for it, click here. I would not buy it there as it can probably be gotten cheaper elsewhere.

Nice shots, Neil. Two redheads? I love it! Gorgeous color. Thanks for the Photoshop link, too. Carole
