Does anyone know of any place on Bonaire where you can rent a digital underwater camera? Most dive shops seem to only have film cameras for rent.

I am having a hard time purchasing the MPK-PHA underwater housing for the Sony P8 camera. It is out of stock everywhere that I check. I had one that has been on back order since April at the Mac Mall and they just cancelled it! I ordered another at CDW and on line it never said backordered but when I checked by phone, it was.
Does anyone have any info that might be helpful for me? Thanks!!

Thanks Freddie, They are both out of stock. I just hope that Sony is still really producing this item seeing as I have the camera already!

Scott, you cant rent a digital camera in a housing with a strobe from Tim at Fish Eye Photo at Bonaire Dive & Adventure. Drive in from the middle of the traffic circle, it's right next to Sand Dollar.

I rented one while I was just there and did two dives with it -- there would have been time to do three or four if you're really eager -- in the 24 hour rental period. You just have to return to the shop during open hours to have Tim refresh the batteries and download the card.

My results were not thrilling. I found out that I prefer diving with my arms free and my attention free to look all about. It was exhausting! My admiration for UW photographers has grown!

Mike, Thanks for the lead. I was able to purchase one one EBAY. It was $50 more, but at least I know for sure that I have the housing!
