Well, it took me several months to find the time to edit, but I have now finished piecing together the video I shot while in Bonaire last September. Sorry for you folks using dial-up connections. This simply won't work. But, if you're connected to the internet by broadband, clicking the link below should take you to a page where the video will start within a few seconds.

Please enjoy

WOW, Jeff! Absolutely mesmerizing! Beautiful cannot describe your short. Thanks ever so much for putting it together and sharing your footage and adventure with us. The music is wonderful and the creatures superb! I have never seen a frogfish up close and in "motion" as you have captured in your footage. I could watch this video/film clip all day and all night long. Actually, I might just do that! Thanks again, Jeff. Carole

Carole, you are always so kind. You and Freddie (and everyone else, for that matter) are more than welcome. I really enjoy editing the video once I get started, but finding the time (relatively uninterrupted) can be a challenge. I was thrilled when the frogfish started walking. It was a real struggle to keep the camera steady and not just bounce for joy.

Thanks, again, Jeff....I just passed the link on to everyone I know...my entire address book! LOL. I hope they all have high speed connections so they can enjoy your footage. It must have been something else when the frogfish started climbing as it did...right on cue!! Great captures. I will be watching this one on a daily basis! Ayo. Carole

Well, I'm glad it looks that way on the video! LOL

In real life it was a combination of luck, patience, and about a half a tank of air. He kept making little moves, so I kept hanging around, then he decided to take a stroll.

Jeff, I have never understood people's facination with the frog fish, which in my opinion was a lumpy lump of nothing..... until now! It was absolutely fascinating to see the depth and capability of that creature, that kept me sitting here with my mouth open. Thank you! The entire video was enjoyable, especially the juvy spotted drum and the smooth trunkfish, (my favorites). Great music choice... I felt like I was on an "adventure"! 5 months to go for trip 5, and as I get stressed out here I'll keep playing your video to stay focused on as to why I work!

Jeff,

Really enjoyed the video - the frogfish walking was amazing, also I've only rarely seen coronetfish on Bonaire, but never swimming in a pair.

Thanks,

David

Jeff,

I am so glad that you were able to capture the squid laying her eggs! We've see that before and were surprised at the squid's concentration and dedication. Good Job!

Jeff,

I forgot to mention that I was happy to see the frogfish's lure in your video.
I spotted my first frogfish while at Little Cayman. I got so excited that I giggled, broke the seal on my mask, and drifted up a few feet until I could compose myself. In the meantime, Seb saw the fish, watched him 'fish' with his lure, then capture and swallow a little fish in the blink of an eye.
Again, Good Job and thanks for sharing.
-Mary W

Makes me want to go back there right now - but I have to wait until July!!! I will tune in whenever I am feeling blue - it will definitely put a smile on my face!!!

I showed the video to my husband last night and we decided it was so good, it was almost like the start to Finding Nemo (apart from the fish is different). Amazing photography and vis.

My thanks to all of you for your kind words. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Bonaire, but it is still months away.

Mary, I am quite envious of your husband. Though I have spent lots of time with frogfish, I have yet to see one actually take prey. Now THAT would be something to catch on video.

David, I too had never seen a pair of coronetfish, only the occasional single. The brilliance of their coloration made me think that they were trying to find a peaceful moment to try and make some baby coronets. The larger (female?) was at least 5 feet long.

Incredibly awesome!!!!! Thank you so much!! I can't wait to show it to everybody I know. Everytime I thought this is the best, the frogfish, the queen angel, etc.. another great scene opened up. I am so looking forewar to our next Bonaire trip and your video just makes me feel that way even more!

Jeff, I am blown away each and every time I watch your footage....just incredibly beautiful! I need to view it daily as my medication when I am not on Bonaire experiencing it in the waters, myself. So beautiful! Can't wait for your next "installment" from your upcoming trip back to Bonaire....something to look forward to, definitely!

You don't make your footage available commercially, do you? If so, how does one go about procuring copies???? Thanks! Carole

what did you use for a camera?

Denise and Carole:

You are too kind. Denise, I use a Sonly PDX-10 in a Sea & Sea VX-950 housing. It is not a system for the budget conscious. It is probably more system than I need, but I use the camera for my business, too, so that makes it easier to justify.

If you're a Bonaire fan only, skip this one, but if you just love Caribbean diving, here's a link to a video I shot earlier in the year in the British Virgin Islands. Right Click on the link and download to your disk before viewing. Jeff's BVI Video

Carole, I don't know about commercially, but I am in the process of editing a DVD of my two Bonaire videos and a self-running slideshow of my stills. I will let you know when it is done and we can discuss getting you a copy.

Wow! Jeff, that is so relaxing, peaceful and beautifully done. The music just tops it all off, too. "A Taste of Honey", indeed!! Superbly done. Words really can't describe the quality of the footage and the calming feeling one gets watching it. Thanks again and again, Jeff!

I sent you a note off board, too. Thanks so much for sharing your works with us. Carole

Jeff-absolutely fabulous!!-best I have ever seen-do you think your set-up is too difficult for a total beginner like me? if so, what would you recommend? Did you use an independent light source? How deep were you? Thanks so much for letting us see this work of art-Patti

Thank you, Darlene.

Dennis, Sorry that I missed your comment. My set-up isn't difficult to use, just pricey. If you want three-chip video, it can't be beat. For great video, in a smaller package, at a somewhat more palatable price, check out the Sony PC-series and the wide variety of housings available for them.
