Got to use my new digital camera on this trip. The underwater housing was pretty nice. These pics are nothing compared to what the pros do, but I was pretty happy with the quality.

Did you use a strobe? I have an a10 and an a40 and when I try to use a strobe it gets REALLY DARK on auto and I can't seem to get the setting correct on manual.

Nope, used the built in flash. I set the camera to the manual setting and had the flash always turned on and set to "cloudy". The closer I got to the subject the better the picture.

That's what I've been doing, but I would like to use my strobes. I have a Bonica 2 lite bar with an Ikelite and a Bonica flash activated strobes. They work well with my MM2 and my AS6's. The more flash I add the darker things get.. I know there has to be a setting to get around this

Sounds to me like the flash is not synching with the camera. The camera is getting darker because it is expecting "more light" and when it fires the shutter the light may already have flashed. Just a thought...

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing these beatiful pics with us!
Longing for those sunsets and clear water already!!!!
I've been there in 2001 and we went a lot of places but Bonaire seems to me like the only one I really like. Hope to get there maybe next year.

Regards,

Henk
