Well, won't you have to pack it back anyway? I don't know where you are, but you can get them pretty quick.

Go to www.scubaboard.com, under underwater photography. Lots of info there. I actually just started a thread about where to get a 5050 and pt-015.

Well, don't you really want to know if anyone services the camera/housing, or if you have a problem will you simply buy another one and pitch the offending item? What spare parts aside from O rings and lube?

If i have a problem i'd just buy a new camera and try to have the insurance reinburse the flooded one.
That's why i'm checking if someone is selling them in bonaire

Thanks

Alex

What quality of picture can you get with a OLY 5050 in their PT-015 housing without an external strobe? Advantages vs disadvantages??

Marsha,

Internal strobe is good for macro, night shots, and close-ups, but doesn't help much if the subject is more than a couple of feet away. Photoshop can fix some of that, but not all of it. If you've never used a camera underwater before, don't bother with the external strobe - learn to use the camera itself (with internal) strobe first.

Jake, Thanks for your comment about just using the internal strobe. I just bought the C5050 and the PT-015 Olympus and was wondering if it would do well with just the internal strobe. I have not purchased the external strobe yet. Thought I would practice with the camera itself. I will be in Bonaire on September 11th, 2004 for a week. First time visit. Can't wait because of all the great "Gossip" I've been hearing.
