Just wanted to let all the helpful people here that have answered all my questions that because of illness we have had to cancel out long planned and greatly anticipated trip to Bonaire. We were to leave this Friday and stay a week at the Plaza Resort. I am really disappointed but it can't be helped. My husband is very sick with the shingles. We are either going to try this summer...hiw is it there in July??? Or maybe next February...anyway..I have enjoyed reading all the posts here and looking at all the great pictures. I am really bummed!!!! Marianne

Marianne...hope your husband feels better soon and you can continue your plans for Bonaire later in the year...the island will still be there and be waiting for you..think positive thoughts , our best wishes for you

Marianne, we do wish your husband a quick and full recovery from his illness. There is really never a bad time to be on Bonaire. It will be warmer in July than in February, but the weather is always good. Bonaire will wait for the both of you...in better health and being able to enjoy her and experience her at her fullest. So sorry to hear about your husband!! I hope he has a speedy recovery! We were in Bonaire in July 2000 and again this past March. It was a little warmer in July, but not that much. We didn't notice a huge difference. You will love Bonaire, it is a wonderful island. Good luck with everything!

Please add my consolation to your cancelled trip, Marianne. I've known a couple of people who had shingles and I know it's a miserable time. One younger man had them around his torso, and another older fellow on his face/eye. That was worse. But it's a temporary illness and shouldn't occur again. Best wishes
