Hi Everyone, I got back last week from my wonderful trip to my favorite island. I stayed at the Plaza Resort with a group of 14 people from East Coast Divers in Massachusetts. As always all went well, Diving was the best and main reason for going there. Its was beautiful as always. I did get to bring Jake his new fins.LOL

Hi Lea, very nice pics!! I especially like the juvenile queen angel! That is what my fish tattoo is. I don't think I've ever seen one in real. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your pics, Lea. I loved seeing your pet seahorses. I was in Washington DC last weekend and visited the (rather pathetic, but informational) National Aquarium. I spent about 15 minutes just sitting on the floor at the tank of seahorses --- just fascinating to see them move around. I was entranced. Good job it was quiet there, as it was people were practically falling over me!!

lea, great pics. i love the juve angel's as they are hard to find sometimes. we only found the small juves in the shallows by bari last time. next time i have to find turtles and frog fish (need to look harder at the soft corals!)

Jake, do you like your new fins?

They aren't actually new fins per se - they are free factory replacements for the same fins which broke due to fragile rubber "hinges". But yes, I like my Mares Volos! I actually bought a new second set last summer, and was thrilled when I discovered they would take my old fins back and replace them for free.

Jake

Hi Lea,
Thanks for responding! I have the strobe too. When the person in your group gets their photos developed do you think they would post them, I would love to see them too!! I am so glad to see that the close up lens alone will do such a fantastic job. You took great pictures!!!! Good luck with your pet seahorses, what a great way to keep Bonaire near :-).

Mary Lou, You definitely want the macro lens. Did you get a lens caddy attachment? It is very handy for carrying an extra lens with you. Make sure when you get in the water you take the lens off and burp it. That is you don't want any air bubbles trapped between the lens. I have a Nikonos V and my husband has the MX10, but on our last trip to Bonaire and our trip to St Lucia I switched with him. We both have some fantastic shots and for the convenience of changing lens underwater and compactness the MX10 is the way to go in our opinion.
Good Luck, happy picture taking and safe diving!
Debbie

Hi Darlene, I will check out the photos, thanks for letting me know about them.

Hi Debbie, Thanks for the advice on burping it. I am a new underwater photographer so I will take any info I can get . I don't have the lens caddy yet, but am planning on ordering it as soon as the macro lens is available.

Thank you both for the info, I love all the advice!!
