Day 5 - Sunday

We decided to do all shore dives today. We got a fairly early start and headed for the Himla Hooker.

This is an awesome dive! It's not as far of a swim out as it sounds. Actually it's quite easy. We went around the outside of it, and I got some great shots. I really do need to get a wide-angle lens though. Maybe next Christmas.

After the Hooker, we went up to Andrea 1. This was one of my favorite sites in 1999, and I still
like it. I saw a really nice banded coral shrimp sitting out on a coral, but couldn't get Steve's attention to get a picture. I didn't bring my shorty, so I got a little chilled. Also, I was lazy and didn't change the batteries in the camera, so it pooped out halfway through our dive. Of course we saw all kinds of cool stuff once the camera was done. We saw a bunch of squid and a really big midnight parrotfish
was waiting for us as we were exiting.

We got some lunch, then did another dive at Buddy's Reef. This time without the camera so we were sure to see lots of cool photo opportunities. We headed south this time and I'm amazed at how one sight can be so different in two different directions. The hard coral formations seem more dramatic to the south. We saw several eels. We stopped for quite a while to watch a sharp tail eel cruising
around.

We looked for the seahorse, but he was hiding this time. We did find the frogfish again though.

Can you believe there's still more to write about??

Pete,

I was using an Olympus 3000Z in an Olympus PT-010 housing with a Sea & Sea YS90DX strobe.
