My wife(as of this coming Sat. :) ) and I will be coming with a group June 16-23. I have been in the Gulf and Cozumel, but not Bonaire. I will have finished my Dive Con by then.
Help. I have read about the storm damage and also about how wonderful everything is. We will be staying Lions.
Could everbody give us a list of there top 12 dive sites.
The best places to eat.
And my wife has an African Gray so I know we will have to do some bird watching.
Thanks. And after the 65 degree water in the Gulf a couple of weeks ago I cant wait to get there.
Steve

Steve there are many favorite sites and as a fellow diver said to me in April "they are all nice". You need Jessie Armacost"s Book "Bonaire Diving Made Easy" This is about $10 US and widely available. It is a 2001 edition thus very up to date. There is also a new Bonaire Restaurant Guide which is free. Not all restaurants are listed but many are. See my trip report concerning our April trip for some of our opinions. You will no doubt get others. I suspect you will Love Bonaire.

Lion's Dive is GREAT. Read my report April 22-May 3rd for details-the hotel, and places to eat, plus a report on Bon Bini Divers.

I can give you some great shore (and boat) dive sites:

Shore:
Windsock (EASY)
Angel City
Invisibles
Weber's Joy (a REALLY nice dive)
Nukove (very difficult entry, but a great dive)
Andrea I (also a difficult entry-I hear Andrea II's entry-which is right next to it-is easier)

Boat Dives
Cap'n Don's Reef (Klein Bonaire)
The Lake (huge double reef)
Small Wall (you want to be on the WebCam, right?)

E-mail me for questions!

i'd add Karparta and 1000 steps to the list as shore dives...add the Forest, Rock Pile and the Ebo Special as boat dives (out to Klein Bonaire)...Angel City (one of my favorites) was already mentioned...say high to that monster green eel that lives just north of the buoy line at Angel City...

whatever,

diving in bonaire is idiot proof (the dive inn would add "as long as you have a buddy" - but they are a bunch of padi sissies anyway;) ...mom's will like them)...

geez, i think i've had a bit to much corona;-)

I recently brought back a number of the new Bonaire Shore Diving guide books and Bonaire Nights. If you're interested, I'd be glad to send some to you for retail cost plus shipping. I'd need your mailing address.

One of my favourite dives is Alice in Wonderland. We've done this as a shore dive several times, but you can do it as a boat dive too.

Congratulations on getting married and have a super honeymoon.
