My husband and I spend 11 fabulous days (Oct 6 - 17)in Bonaire - our first time. Our accomodations with the Green Submarine fell through two weeks before we were to arrive. Babs @ The Dive Inn saved our Canadian bacon and put us up in her apartments and arranged a car. She rearranged some of her customers to accomodate us especially since it was Regatta time. Great dive shop, great apartments and awesome people. Wouldn't go again at regatta time - too many people.
Like many other trip reports, AA lost one of our dive bags(mine) but I fooled them and packed my spare corrective lense mask in my carry-on. My only essential piece of dive gear. We did get our bag back.
Only two thefts to report: the licence plates from our rental car(someone's souvenir) and my husband's beat-up dive boots (our fault-left them on our window to dry overnight)
The no stress diving on Bonaire was the absolute best. It was strange not having to wear a dry suit and 30lbs. of lead.
The only draw back for us in the frozen Canadian North is that it takes us 3 days to get to Bonaire (two overnights, 11 hours and 4 planes) and 2 days to get home. This till not deter us from returning in January 2004. Thanks Dive Inn, Lin and Lorraine

Lorraine,

I have been to Bonaire many times, but never stayed at the Dive Inn. We arrive next month on the 23rd, and that is where we are staying. I have been by the Dive Inn many many times, as we always stay at the Divi. I'm looking forward to a new place. Thanks for the heads up, and your report. Hope it is not too cold northern neighbor.

Jim, I highly recommend the Dive Inn. My husband and I are not 5 star hotel people, so the Dive Inn Studios were just perfect. Very friendly, but professional ladies at the Dive Inn (Babs, Leonne and Mathilde). They made you feel instantly welcome. I can't say enough about them.
We like the freedom to come and go whenever with not a lot of people around like the bigger hotels. Load up your vehicle in the morning with tanks and gone for the day. Their prices were just right for my budget so I am extremely happy and no question we'll be back. Say hi to them from the Canadians, Lin and Lorraine and have a great trip. (P.S. -4C and dropping - ice diving will be a little late this year)
