Just got back last night from Bonaire. We had a marvelous trip.

Flew Air Jamaica out of Chicago, no problems going down (some coming back). Arrived in Bonaire around 3:30 and picked up our car. Away we went. No luggage problems either way.

We stayed at Lion's Dive (our third time), and used Bon Bini, a great dive shop. We dove every day, mostly shore dives. We dove Bari reef right out front 5 or 6 times. I saw my first frogfish and first scorpionfish there!

Other shore dives:
Ole Blue, Karpata, Windsock, Pink Beach, Alice in Wonderland, Hilma Hooker, Invisibles. All were great.

2 boat dives:
Divi Divi off of Klein, and Rockpile, also off of Klein.

My husband had the privilege of diving Lac Cai with Bas. Too advanced for me. He saw about 15 eagle rays, nurse sharks, a school of tarpon, a green moray. Special thanks to Bas for a very special dive.

Dining-all meals were great. We ate at Lion's Den a couple of times, Mona Lisa twice, Buddy's for lunch twice, Cappricio's (oh, their LOBSTER PASTA!), It Rains Fishes, The Rib Place (this one wasn't quite as good as the rest), City Cafe for lunch. Had lunch a few times in the condo, and dinner once there. And we had a Bonaire Talk dinner at Antriol Catering, a very local place. Thanks to Martin, and Jake and Linda for putting together this fun evening.

Regarding Air Jamaica-the computers were supposedly down for 2 weeks in Bonaire. When we arrived to check in, we waited well over an hour in line only to be told that we had to go to another line to get a handwritten boarding pass. This could have been communicated to passengers while we were waiting. We were then delayed, which screwed up many people's connections-fortunately for us, we had a long layover in Jamaica, so we got home. We understand that problems occur, but the ATTITUDE of the customer service in Bonaire was horrendous. And forget the island time excuse. Nowhere else on the island did we experience that kind of poor service.

But we made it home, awoke yesterday to SNOW, which was a shock, and hope to go back ASAP.

Bas, I believe, did tell me he was working at Photo Tours. After our BT dinner, we met him driving the pink bus, where he graciously offered to take Craig to Lac Cai.

You're so lucky to have seen a frogfish. I can't wait to see some pictures. Debbie

Hi, Mary! Thanks for the report and too bad about AJ on the ride home. They had "computer" troubles when we were leaving last May, too, but not as horrible as yours was. Sounds like your husband had some terrific dives with Bas...the lucky devil..how exciting! Beyond my level, as well! Can't wait to see your pics. Glad you made it home safely, but too bad "reality" had to bring snow with it.....yech. The PBD must be hitting you hard about right now. Ayo. CArole
