It took a while, but the final 2 series of our pictures from Bonaire are now online at our site: http://www.crystalvisions.tk

There is part 2 of the wildlife series, which includes our amazing encounter with 2 Wara Waras... I was able to approach them up to less than 10 meters.

The other series is mostly about people, shot on Bonaire Day and gives a nice look at the local population. Enjoy!

Thx 4 the pics Marc! Awesome...
We also encountered the Wara Waras but every time we tried 2 catch them on film they "ran" off.

How many did you see Igor? I think they are magnificent birds, they seem to have a bad reputation with the local people (myths about eating goats), but they are my favourites...

Thanks for your entry in our Guestbook! :)

We saw them in Washington/Slagbaai (I don't know if they even live out of the parc?).
We saw two of them when we had just entered the parc (at the first salina, I cannot remember the name at this moment). Cinthie was busy with the camera doing a few close-ups of some goats. The Wara Waras were sitting pretty close 2 us, but by the time she had switched her lenses after her closeups, they decided 2 take off :(
We ran into another (or the same?) couple about half way down the long route. We saw them flying away when we drove by. A couple of minutes later one landed in front of us on the road. When Cinthie tried 2 shoot some pics it wandered of in2 the bushes. We could still see it, but it was hiding between the trees, so Cinthie couldn't get a decent shot.
It are magnificent birds! I could watch them pretty good with our binocular.
