we stayed at buddy dive, did one boat dive per day, shore dives, traveled with american from phoenix to curacao and alm to bonaire.

for anyone interested, NEVER FLY ALM unless you have MANY hours of planned layover time. we were 2+ hours late from curacao to bonaire due to ALM errors. we were almost 3 hours late leaving bonaire to curacao, again due to ALM. this caused us to be 'stuck' on curacao an extra day as we missed all flights. we made the best of it and enjoyed curacao, HOWEVER, enormous hassles with ALM. they caused 13 people to miss all flights and connections. AND they almost made us miss the flights the next day due to their inefficiencies and lack of ability to make necessary arrangements. they DO NOT have their act together at all!!!

NOW ON THE POSITIVE SIDE...Bonaire is a wonderful place to go, dive, etc. We will go again. The folks at Buddy Dive are great, the accommodations are VERY good for a dedicated dive resort. If you want luxury and no diving, other places are better suited. the food is quite good, and we did the dive and drive plan. you truly do not need to do boat dives if you rent a vehicle and use the 24 hr fill station. we did not see big animals, however the fish and corals are simly wonderful, beautiful, etc, etc, etc.

i'll add additional recommendations, etc on other sites out there where folks are asking questions. i'll also add some photos to this site once i rest up for a day or so.

Thanks, Ginny. Look forward to your photos. It's so sad that neither ALM nor Air Jamaica seem to be reliable. I was planning on AJ for our next trip, until I read the recent report on the AJ/Montego Bay nightmare. What to do??? Oh, we'll, we'll get there somehow!

Go with Air Jamaica. We used them in February during a peak travel season and had no problems. Most people I know at Sand$ love AJ.For the summer they even added a Sunday flight.

Ginny - I can't imagine enough words to express how great your photos are. Vivid, fantastic color and resolution, and composition worthy of envy! You posted a really nice range of subjects, so that those of us who misplaced our cameras for too many days can show our friends and families a great representation of aspects of Bonaire. Love that iguana in the tree shot! Not to mention the underwater pics - the scorpionfish and turtle are my favorites from the wet world. Muchas gracias! - nancy

Well, now at least I know it's Webster. Sorry, Ginny. Tried, but get only a "null". I'll try once more after all the big showoff computers go to sleep. Hate to miss something Nancy is crowing over. Hate to miss pics period. Is your site in anything exotic?

Ginny, let me parrot what Nancy said, great pictures, thanks for sharing. Loved the sunsets, the iguana, and the underwater pictures. Still trying to figure out how you got a fish and a Spotted Moray Eel in the same frame. One minor nit, you really should reduce the size of the big pictures a little so they fit on most monitors, maybe 70-80%. That great sunset I downloaded so I could see the whole picture

Awww, shucks...my site is just the free msn community. They give you about 25 megs to post photos. I may even create another so my family can share some photos of the kids. I thought I could add images right on this page, but can't figure it out. I say a note from someone on another thread, so here goes my picture

Superb lobster shot! One favor - can you
shrink the photo size that you post? Those of
us with slightly smaller monitors just can't see
the whole picture. I know nothing about
scanning photos, so don't know what size to
ask you to cut them down to, but someone
else may have a suggestion. Thanks

Ginny, run Windows Paint, if you have a pc. Under the Image Menu there is a Stretch/Skew option select that, and in the % box put 80% in both. Then resave and the picture should be smaller, you can also select how you want to save the picture. If your posting them to the Internet always select jpeg (.jpg).
