For anyone who has read my occasional posts on Community Chat, this was a trip I wasn't sure was going to happen. So arriving there last Saturday safe and sound (even if we were in row 45 for 4 hours!)was a chance to stop holding my breath and start breathing easy for a week. We stayed in our timeshare unit at Buddy's (former Lion's Dive side) as always. The view remains amazing and will keep pulling me back. This was our 5th trip during this same week in December and the weather was so much better than previous years. A little shower the first night, and then again Saturday morning before we left. In between, sunshine! We didn't snorkel as much as we usually do, and most were off of Buddy's dock. Shallows didn't look too much different to me, as in not much coral, but fish life was pretty good. The other 2 places I snorkeled from shore were 1000 steps (decent coral, limited fish) and Oil Slick ( not much coral left in the shallows, limited fish.) But on our last day I went on a boat snorkel trip to the Forest and one other Klein Bonaire site. Both were amazing, both in coral and fish. At the unnamed site, we saw 5 turtles. But in listening to the divers around us throughout the week, people remarked on the changes since Omar, but all still seemed to be having good diving. Restaurants: Ate 2 lunches out, Rumrunners and Brisas del Mar. Had never been to the latter. Good food and nice location. For dinner: Twice at Lion's Den and once each at Sunset Bar and Grill, Wil's Tropical Grill, and Patagonia. Although all the dinners were great, I have to say Patagonia ranked top on my list for the trip. Food was wonderful, service exceptional, and very good live entertainment the night we were there.
Overall, a relaxing trip and look forward to next year.

Cindy

Cindy, I could not be happier to hear you had a great trip. Another case of our worries being much worse than the reality. I'm sure the PBD is bad right now that you are back to the grind. Hang in there you and your hubby remain in our thoughts and prayers.
