This trip report is short and focused on one incident that happened on return flight. When I get more time, I will file a more complete report.

In July I went to Bonaire and when I returned I took 12 bottles of Bright back with me. I packed 4 in one bag and 8 in another. When I unpacked my bags I found that all 8 bottles in one bag had leaked. The bottles were intact and the lids were still tightly attached. Two bottles were completely empty, two still had about half bottle of beer and the other four in the same bag were less than half a bottle. I have never had this problem on previous trips. The four bottles in the other bag were all completely full. Both bags were checked.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Has anyone got any ideas what happened to the 8 bottles? Do you think that bag ended up in a luggage compartment that was not pressurized on one of the flights? Do you think custom agents got into that bag and drank them? ;-)

Any suggestions on preventing the problem on my trip later this month?

Here is a guess - possibly on the non-pressurized cabin. However another consideration is if they left it sit on the tarmac and it got hot. The beer would expand and if there are any particles in the seal, it could leak when the beer expands.

Another attack of the "Bright Gnomes".....I've seen them.....late one night on Playa Lechi.....they were dancing naked, screaming wildly and making plan to go the airport in a few hours. I was ever so afraid...

I'll look for them tomorrow
on Playa Lechi.

But I can't tell if I see them, coz if I do....they'll make me DRINK BEER

Joe,
Are they amphibious? Because I saw one just the other day in the shallows at Karpata. This could be an epidemic! I say we put a bounty out to round up all these critters for the goodness of all Brite drinkers!
