First trip to Bonaire. Accommodations at Wannadive Hut, no frills hotel, just our style, great staff. Their motto is "you don`t need to be crazy to work here, but it helps".
Diving with Wannadive. Great crew. Initial briefing long enough to give us all important informations about diving in Bonaire. No waste of time before the first dive.
Wonderful dives all week long.
Car with Island Car Rental. Very good truck. Everything OK.
Hotel room`s key forgotten inside the car during a night dive in front of Yellow Submarine pier. Brooks`s law working... room`s key stolen. Please, don`t say a word. I know I had to keep the keys with me, but I forgot.
Wannadive Hut personnel helped us to make a police report. Cops came in 15 minutes, very polite.
We payed for the new room`s lock. It was fair.
Just a long and tired trip to come and go. Someone has to improve the connections between Brazil and Bonaire.
Got acquainted to PBD. Time to plane the next trip.

Marcio..Glad you enjoyed your trip to Bonaire. I suspect from now on you'll always remember on those shore dives to put the room keys into your BC. Changing locks can be an expensive proposition.

I do hope the room key did not have anything identifying the hotel or room number..It sounds like a dumb question but I found set of keys outside my shop and it said , in Dutch, Hato winkel..."Hato Store" I guess some people are much too trusting..

Hi Guys! Thanks for your messages.

Here comes a link to see some pictures. Please, fell free to comment.

I`m still learning how to take pictures underwater. I used a Canon A650IS with a Canon underwater case. In Bonaire, I bought a Sea&Sea YS-27DX strobe light with Tim at Fish-Eye Photo. He gave me some instructions for free that helped me to improve my pictures.

Another person that deserves a comment is Bruce Bowker from Carib Inn. At the first day of diving I had a problem with my Beuchat first stage regulator and he had no spare parts for it. I was about to by a new first stage in his dive shop but he didn`t allow me to do that before he had tried to fix the problem by an alternative way. And he got it! I payed for the service less than 1/10th I would have payed for the new equipment and it is still working much better than before the failure.

Becky, my wife and I will try to come back before the expiration date of our Stinapa fee. Maybe bringing some other friend with us. This will be our challenge for 2009.

Vince, you are right. Thinking about how many Amstel we could have had with the money spent with the room`s lock...

Randy, muito obrigado pelas frases em portugues. Muito bom mesmo. Continue treinando e venha nos visitar no Brasil. I see you have a good teacher.

Michael, the key`s tag had a pair of letters standing for the hotel name and one number. I don`t know if it would be enough to identify the place, but the changing of locks was the most advisible thing to be done, any way.

Mario, I agree. Doing Bonaire twice in one year on the same STINAPA tag only makes sense in these hard economic times. Over the years, I have saved about $180 on repeat visits. It is a beautiful thing. Thanks for your report.
