"Ya know, I found a seahorse yesterday," I told Leslie, again, as we drove towards Margate Bay.

She had quit responding to my seahorse remarks sometime during the previous evening. Currently, she won’t even acknowledge the quip with a glance. I might’ve worn out my "seahorse" welcome.

"If you’re so smart, why don’t you find a frogfish today?" She put the challenge out there and I bit – hook, line, and sinker.

"You want a frogfish, lady? I’ll find you one."

Leslie laughed hysterically. I couldn’t blame her.

Now I was the quiet one. I had just committed to a big task - finding a frogfish. What was I thinking? Upon my failure, I’ll never hear the end of it...

Margate Bay was its typical spectacular dive. Visibility was slightly less than it was the other day, but we just love this dive. We scored another turtle sighting, but no frogfish. I didn’t mention it, and thankfully, neither did Leslie. Although I know she hadn’t forgotten. I figure she’s saving it up.

We grabbed some more tanks at BDA, and headed for 1000 steps. I love this dive, but I really think that someone is secretly adding steps. Seems the climb back up is harder and harder each time I do it. And we’ll do it at least two more times this trip.

After the dive there was some talk about a frogfish, but it didn’t last long.

A short stop for Lover’s Ice Cream, and we were back in the water at Bari. Another great squid encounter. I think there’s some kind of telepathy between Leslie and the squids. She took some shots of them, and then came over to where I was pointing out a baby trunk fish – you know the ones that look like a little dice? She snapped a shot or two of it and when she turned around, the squid were in her face. They had followed her! She got a few more shots, and then we headed towards the dock, with five squid in tow.

I looked hard, but I was unable to locate a frogfish at Bari.

Food last night was at the Sunset Bar & Grill. They were having a Bar-B-Que buffet. The food was excellent. Steak, ribs, chicken, tuna – all really, really, good. Leslie had some of the tuna and she said it was the best she had ever had. Service was great and Kirk came around several times to make sure everything was okay. I have eaten at a lot of the Bar-B-Que buffets on the island over the years, and I have to say that this may well be the best I have ever had. I will return next Friday.

Last night’s meal was made even more enjoyable by our dinner companion. We met up with Timmmy and enjoyed his company well into the evening. If you have not met him, you are missing out – a superbly nice individual. From the moment Leslie and walked up to the bar and shouted "TIMMMY!" I knew we were in for a treat. His persistent smile and good humor fueled our conversations all evening. A fine southern gentleman – a person anyone would be thankful, and lucky, to call "friend." We sincerely hope to enjoy more of his camaraderie in the not too distant future.

If we don’t meet up again before you leave, best wishes to you and safe travels. Thanks for stepping into our lives, friend.

Before I leave you today, I need to expound on one other item. I mentioned that there was some frogfish talk after our dive at 1000 steps, and that the conversation hadn’t lasted very long. Well... that’s because... I FOUND A FROGFISH AT 1000 STEPS!

That’s right – a little green frogfish buried in some coral way south of the mooring line. I could never find him again, even if I had to. But I don’t have to. Leslie saw it and got some pictures.

"Okay, tough guy," Leslie said as I danced around in front of her doing a very poor impression of a big, fat frogfish. "Find me a whale shark!"

I thought for a minute, but didn’t bite on that one.

However... I wonder....

Dive on Friends.

Dave & Leslie.

Dave - Thanks for the kind words - It was a pleasure meeting, tipping brights and breaking bread with you and your lovely wife Leslie. It was a fun BT style mini meet and common interests kept the laughs coming all night. Looking forward to illustrating that first Book Cover for you.

Leslie has a good eye for artistic composition with her photography and she is going to be one to watch in the future...

Ann - You are a Peach - Love you too oxoxoxo

Dave - seahorse, frogfish, whaleshark... sounds like the perfect trifecta to me. :-) Go get'em! We want pictures, though... not just a whale of a tale :-)
