Hi All!! Just wanted to give an update for 09. The Wounded Warrior Trip for this year is Sept 27 - Oct 4. The Divers have been selected and are doing the classroom and pool training with their local dive stores and then we complete the open water training in Bonaire. The warriors are from NY, AR, PA, OH, TX, and NC. We are looking forward to the great hospitality of Bonaire.

Dave... I dove with the Warriors on a previous trip and am a HSA and PADI scuba instructor. if you need my help I'd be happy to volunteer some of my time. Is Stu the HSA instructor again?

Hi Bas, Great to hear from you! Yes Stew will be accompanying the trip this year. I will put you on my list for some extra help. We are currently planning on starting our training dives Sunday afternoon as we are arriving on the red eye out of Newark.

I'm very glad to know of an HSA instructor on Bonaire...tried to find one for referrals in the past and got skunked...

I hope to get HSA certified this October in Toms River, NJ. I was going to do it last year, but all kinds of things happened. I met Stu and company last year at "Beneath the Sea." Good guys for sure doing a wonderful thing. I would be more than happy to donate to BT for Wounded Warriors again. Is anyone going to get it started?

Yes Jim, we are. I did 06. Mare did 07, and 08 is happening right now. I was humming the old Air Force anthem this afternoon at work, so I guess tag I'm it. We all wait for more info from Marie and Dave, the number of players changes as we get closer to the ETD every year, and we have no number of divers and family yet. I'd like to raise enough for Marine Park tags for the group, and a nice dinner for the group, and if we can raise enough to cover breakfasts and whatever, like we did last year, I'll get all teary. I don't care a fig about t shirts, hats. or any of that crap for the troops, I just want them to keep their wallets in their pockets as much as possible.

Please send fund for the Warriors to paypal@bonairetalk.com. I authorize all BTers to chat this up, start threads,and post links. In fact, I'm beggin' ya to. Mary and are busier than a long tailed cat in a room full or rocking chairs right now, our every day gets a little bit longer, so guys, waltz right in. I'll ask everybody to donate using Paypal@bonairetalk.com that is humanly possible, and we'll figure out the check and money order people on the back nine when it comes to paying up for the troops. Do I understand that the total group is 7 people or are there other family members that will be on the Island with the people participating?

Yes, well add one more, the Staff member from Disabled Sports/Wounded Warriors is a vet him self. He came down last year and now works for the program. He is going to be doing his Rescue diver during the trip. So we have total of 8 including one spouse. Just for your information staff includes:
