Two care free weeks.

Accommodations – First; LHB #13 awesome. What more can I say? Debbie and Gregg’s place is oh so comfortable, perfectly set up for divers, wifi, gas grill, barking parrot next door, friendly neighborhood dogs, full kitchen, welcome food/snacks on arrival, security system, etc etc etc. Any questions just email me. We had guests there for cookouts and it was perfect. Somebody thought it was our home, which tells you just how well equipped and comfortable it is. I would recommend this townhouse to anybody (as long as two levels is not an issue) ; 2 bedroom- private baths for each br, just minutes walk to the beach, simply the best, VERY NICE. The only issue is that if everybody realizes just how great it is here, it will become more and more difficult to find times available http://bonairevilla.com/ ! … Second; last two nights at Caribbean Club, ocean view studio. “ Location location location” ... just up the hill from Oil Slick Leap, wonderful wind and awesome view. Studio is fairly small, no microwave or oven, very limited kitchen capabilities, beds are rock hard, two twins pushed together. Practically nobody there, had the pool to ourselves for most of the time. View from pool – incredible. If you want to stay there I would suggest the new Deluxe cottages http://www.caribbeanclubbonaire.com/ .

Highlights –
* Stefanie’s great support at LHB #13, and her generous contribution of her yummy home made dessert for our BT get together.
* Land Crab hanging on the screen door at LHB#13 when we came home one night.
* BT get together where I some how did not have time to talk to many people, old friends and new, but had a great time :-) It was nice to again see Annie, and later to visit with Jake, Linda and Bas and Yana who came after most had left.
* Dinner then a night dive with Patrick and his very friendly group.
* Baby nurse shark hiding under coral, about 18” long.
* Night Dives, dinners, ice cream with Lutty. What an awesome gentleman, with the infamous cute dimple. We consider ourselves fortunate to have such a nice friend. I have a few pieces of gold jewelry made by Lutty. When he gets back to making it again, I highly recommend it. If you stay at Habitat be sure to get in a boat dive with him.
* Visit to Jake and Linda’s new gallery. Very very nice. Such talent! A print of a flamingo painting by Linda will soon be hanging on our office wall. Iguana breath on their alpha dog, Gredle, after she had eaten half an iguana she caught – HA! Oh so gross, but oh so funny, sorry but I did lol.
* Two frog fish, very cute white with purple/grey highlights box crab, one very big green moray, HUGE porcupine fish under the sunken boat in front of Habitat, BIIIIGGGGGGGG loggerhead turtle, two Ocean Trigger fish, groups of up to five beautiful queen angels, pair of tiny juvenile drums, and oh so many of the usual but still special fish.
* Teddy ‘discovered’ the joy of tiny fish and critters, I found myself focusing on the textures of the various corals.

Special thank you to the oh so nice individual who lent us a camera for our above water, last days’ pictures. I won’t say the name because I do not want people knocking on the door for help when ever needed. BUT we greatly appreciated the offer and the use of the camera since ours got the bends after only a couple of days on Bonaire.

Flights home: Delta, nice to have the late afternoon departure. Atlanta was such a cluster !!! We landed and had to sit on the run way for a half hour. Then our luggage took 45 minutes to get to where we pick it up to go through customs. Then we RAN like you know what to make it to the plane 5 minutes before departure. Not surprising, our luggage did not make it to Boston when we did. So what! They delivered it to our home about 24 hours later, middle of the night / Sunday AM.

Sum it all up - Another awesome vacation; relaxation, time with friends, great diving. What more could anybody ask for ! When I organize and clean up my pictures I’ll post some :-)

More special thank yous; Debbie and Greg Babcock, Stefanie, Patrick, Lutty, Annie, Jake and Linda, Bette, and all the friendly smiling people who crossed our path on Bonaire.

Denise, So glad you had a great time on island. That land crab picture you sent me was huge! He is a new resident at the house, can't wait to see if he is still about when I get there in August. :-) Thanks for your trip report, wished I could have been there for the BT MiniMeet. Enjoyed seeing the pictures that were posted of it.
