In a way, it was lot like coming home.

DIVING we did 23 dives over 2 weeks. Highlights were...

Well, the most huge highlight is that we saw 2 dolphins courting at Invisibles. I noticed fins as we were getting in to our gear-what an incredible experience. It was awesome-and Invisibles is our favorites site!! One really interesting notation-the STINAPA park officials were checking tags and asking question. They were very polite and very friendly, but they were taking down permit numbers, where you were staying, etc. I was fine with that--I figured it was a presence for anyone trying to take things from the trucks.

ACCOMODATIONS-we stayed at the Belmar, which was very nice. The only thing I didn't like was their a/c in the bedroom, which shut off after 15 minutes. I understand energy conservation...but I'm from Michigan, and cannot sleep in really warm temperatures. I think an extra price for that would be acceptable. Also, because of big groups, sometimes Nitrox was not available. They need to plan better for that. Other than that, the rooms were great and we enjoyed the huge porches overlooking the sea.

DINING-We ate in for all breakfast, and most lunches. our favorite place was Mona Lisa (always our favorite-Kurt is awesome). We loved Bistro de Paris-especially for lunch. Patrice is so personable, and the food is great. KFC was great (we haven't eaten it in 10 years, but in Bonaire it was very high quality). Patagonia was great, as was Papya Grill (the service, Andrew, was a bit edgy-you just have to feed it back to him) Wil's was wonderful as usual. One thing I noticed was that prices were UP-and groceries were very high and more scarce than normal.

CAR RENTAL-we went through AB. They were great, efficient, no problems.

Delta-we were on the flight that was held up because someone had their luggage on the plane, but didn't show up for the flight. They had to pull all the luggage off to remove it. It was an almost 2 hour delay-but we did get down there, and the flight back was fine.

SIGH-we're back in Michigan, suffering from PBD!!!

I forgot one other thing-we had an unpleasant experience at Cactus Blue. We went on a Monday night at 7 pm; the restaurant only had 2 tables occupied, and they wanted us to sit at a very small table shoved up against the wall. I asked for a bigger one, and was told that no--those were for parties of 4. We left. Apparently they didn't need our business...
